Starting with the Romans, then on to Alfred’s line.

The Romans left Brittania. The year was four one 0.

We’re talking Anno Domini, a very long time ago.

First they had Dark Ages, but then they had to fight.

Foreigner invaders, who made our land their own.

So Anglo-Saxons we had become.
